More video content is uploaded every 30 days than major U.S. television networks have created in 30 years. This led to the development of social media platforms, such as YouTube and Twitch, democratizing the ability to be a successful content producer. Social media platforms (Web 2.0) provide a distribution network for content creators to access an audience of virtually anyone with an internet connection, just as old school television shows used traditional TV networks to access their audience.The problem is that the revenue earned on social media platforms comes from advertising. The Platform intends to incentivize and protect its participants by rewarding behavior that strengthens the community and the content it outputs. All users on the platform will be assigned an ‘Influence Score.’ Individual advertisements and pieces of content will also be assigned an Influence Score. These scores will determine the weight in which users may influence the direction of the platform. The score will be determined completely from a users behavior within the platform.In a sense, Mesmr is the future of internet standards.
